Geocaching: Fun family entertainment anywhere in the world. Have you tried it?
I was wanting to take this opportunity to promote something that I have recently become addicted to. I want to share this with my brothers and sisters in uniform because it is a good way to relieve stress and have fun. This has helped me with the issues that I have been denying existed for a long time. Anyways, I have recently started playing a game called geocaching. Some of you may have heard of it, some are also cachaholics. For those that are wondering what it is, basically there are 2.5 million hidden containers around the world. When someone hides a geocache, they put in the grid coordinates at the website I will add and others try to go find it. At first I was sceptical about it but I gave it a try and love it. If you love land nav it is most certainly for you. Let me know if you have any questions but keep in mind, I am still somewhat new at it.

We've been doing it as a family for probably 10 years. I've found caches in Iraq, Afghanistan, Germany, Phillipines, and the US - probably more, but I forgot which ones for sure.

I didn't know about it until I saw an episode on Law & Order. It looks like fun. I'll take it up a knotch and start burying them around the globe when Hitomi and I start flying AMC in the next few months. We are hitting Misawa, Japan, Okinawa, Guam, Saipan and wherever our Air Force family decides to be going.

SFC Mark Merino - Cool!! I am so sorry I started caching after deploying to Diego Garcia and Bagram AF Afghanistan. Both have caches placed!

CDR Laurel Meadows - I left tons of buried treasure all over Iraq in 2003. No grids, and definitely not worth uncovering.
