A new step in the process of getting a permit in NJ, urinalysis? This was more than a presidential election. If they can't get your gun using one dodgy mean they'll try something else. Until Marijuana is removed from the list of scheduled drugs Federally, leave it alone, or loose your 2A rights.

The problem with that drug-use prohibition is that it is not enforceable. Gun dealers aren't trained and certified drug-testing sites, so it is impossible to know whether a prospective gun-buyer smoked a joint the day before they came in to buy a gun. Dealers can refuse the sale if they suspect that the buyer is drug-impaired, but that is the limit of the "enforcement" that is currently available.

The Florida Ag Commissioner proudly waved her CCW and marijuana card when she was elected, as if to reassure both sides that she is "one-of-us". Drug use is also disqualifying for a CCW license.
