To clarify, this is not about a Christian church that caters to white people. It is about a pagan group that believes its members are superior to people with a non-European background

Capt Gregory Prickett I suspect they were selected due to the size of the town and their financial ability to fight it.

People tend to forget that there are thousands of "ethnically exclusive" churches around the country, and many of them hold their services ONLY in their native languages, so if you don't understand their language, you are effectively excluded. The "rub" with that church is that it is "white people only", instead of Latino, Haitian, Korean, Muslim, or, or, or...

Valid point. I would dare to say that if you accept their culture, you should also be accepted into their church.
There is no race involved.
