The power of forgiveness — Green Earth Wellness

What does it really mean on an internal level? What does the process look like and how does it shape our internal worlds? When we do not fully forgive things, people, ourselves and situations that have happened in our lives, then we are subject to holding on to these negative emotions. These negative emotions are truths that are deep inside us that we can never truly escape from. We may be able to distract ourselves, to look the other way, to keep our minds occupied and to fool ourselves into thinking that we are not affected by our pasts, but we are simply not facing our truths that we do not want to face.

Depending on the gravity of what was done to us, it is very hard to forgive someone who has done something that has deeply hurt us or our loved ones or has negatively impacted our lives in a way that can not easily be repaired. It is even harder to forgive a person who has no remorse for what they have done nor has made an attempt to apologize to us.
