When I attended school in the 40's and early 50's, the "science was settled". The Sun was a giant piece of fuel consuming itself. The Collier's encyclopedia in my home told me so. How delightfully ignorant we were. This is why I always laugh when someone belabors me with the latest theories (such as man-made climate change) and dismiss my objections with an arrogant toss of "the science is settled". Personally, I prefer following actual science, a never ending, always evolving body of understanding, open to challenges, and demanding proof, not opinion.

I like to remind "the science is settled" crowd that we have no idea what five sixths of the matter in the universe is (dark matter), and over two thirds of everything is dark energy, which we also do not even begin to have a handle on. We understand (more or less) 5% of what we can measure in this cosmos. No more.

I previewed this video yesterday and it was okay, but it did not get my juices flowing so-to-speak... The science was there, but seemed to take to long to drive the importance of Jupiter's core, so didn't post... But like you I am always seeking good science as it is a never ending and ever changing aspect of our Universe and what is in it... That said, excellent share, CPT Jack Durish !!!
