Plain and simple they do not have the votes for the 25th amendment route and to attempt it without the votes would be an exercise in stupidity. Same deal with Impeachment. As in the beginning of this administration they do have the votes for CENSURE but Pelosi and Schumer are not interested in that. So we will have failure again by the Democrats.......it is what they know best.

They are all throwing dough at the wall. Posturing for next election. Not sure much will come out of it. Suggestive writing is both encouragement to an audience, and attempts to force next move by opposition. I believe they are riled up over Capitol and want to go on record. Pounding chest over Senate majority as well. I'd almost guarantee it will be lively for the next 10 days, but not much more.

Maj John Bell - Yes I saw it. There are videos online of the entire show that range from minutes to hours. Save America Rally I believe they called it. It falls short of a 5 paragraph order, but has some very damaging comments by all. I believe so damaging that he made a toned down version for damage control later that day. I also saw this one.

CWO3 (Join to see) - "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard." Source: ABC News Transcript of President Trump's address to the "Stop the Steal" Protestors.

"So we are going to--we are going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue, I love Pennsylvania Avenue, and we are going to the Capitol, and we are going to try and give--the Democrats are hopeless, they are never voting for anything, not even one vote but we are going to try--give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don't need any of our help, we're try--going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country. So let's walk down Pennsylvania Avenue." Source: ABC News Transcript of President Trump's address to the "Stop the Steal" Protestors.

These are NOT incitements to violence. President Trump doesn't utter a word in your clip. So my question stands.

Maj John Bell - Lawyers get paid to argue anything. When put in context with strongarm attempts via fonecon to GA officials it can make a good argument toward his intent. Even implied threats toward Pence to violate the law on electors fit here. Although he and others didn't issue a directive it was certainly implied. Comments by Brooks, Trump Jr. and Rudy were not helpful. Don't be a zero, but a hero. Trial by combat. Time to kick ass and take names. If it comes to a vote in Congress, it will suffice. It's both sides posturing for mid-terms and 2024. I don't think it's a good idea at this date, but it's CYA in their view, in case something worse happens.

I understand why people say coup . . . but I prefer "Incitement of Insurrection" and "seditious conspiracy" as more accurate descriptions. Our system of government is intended to make coups and insurrections unnecessary because of the peaceful transfer of power. Personally, I think Trump's ill-mannered disdain for a variety of select demographic populations - of which he is not part - has, throughout the past four years, incited a lot of hatred and bigotry similar to the personal bigotry he expresses.

Thanks. Looks futile and ill-timed to me. Senate will still have enough R votes to block 2/3 required.
