As the violent mob broke into the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday, and livestreams showed pro-Trump insurrectionists defacing property and posing in the House Speaker's chair, here in the West, feelings of shock quickly faded to familiarity.
"There are years of warning signs," said Eric Ward of the Western States Center, which tracks extremism in Oregon and the West.
It was five years ago this month when anti-government militants led an armed siege of a federal wildlife refuge in rural eastern Oregon. Far-right extremists led by Ammon Bundy occupied government buildings, vandalized and defaced property and at one point bulldozed a road across land considered sacred to local Native Americans.

Pretty much every rational person says this was no more an assault on our government than any actions taken this last summer. Most of this stuff are Swamp Creatures, Big Media, Professional Sports, and China trying their best to drive a stake through President Trump’s heart. MHO

I'm trying to understand why you feel that way. During the summer, inanimate objects and buildings were being damaged and destroyed. Federal law enforcement were arresting protestors who were causing mayhem in the streets with looting and rioting.
So me one time during the summer where protestors were ATTACKING law enforcement as the protestors, carrying bear spray, zip ties, and multiple weapons were attacking police to get at United States citizens? Please sir. One time.
How is China involved? Professional Sports? Big Media? Help me to understand your rationale please?
You identify yourself as a noncommissioned officer? How do you explain this to your troops as something your commander in chief is to condone? Please. . .elaborate.
