What a complex subject. Add to it issues on the front line over time makes ethics important but flexible?
Flexible in not rushing to judgement. Yet, holding individuals libel for unauthorized conduct. Also, the issue of unlawful orders, perhaps like Creek removal, can be a judgment call where an individual loses their upward momentum in rank if they refuse?
It is good to see such depth in thought for our military. I think, we could keep things at a minimum when we fight, we fight hard and quick. Not spending years around a culture that hates us. Move to high ground and force our will.

We have to get past the FT Apache approach of staying way past when we should have left. But I liked the ethics in this - you have to think about what your doing. You can fight hard and quick - but these days a single ethics incident becomes a global rally cry. Looking back at the hard factors of history and learning ethics from what already occurred can make a difference when time comes to fight again.

And with AQ and IS - we will be fighting for a long time to come.

LTC Eric Udouj - Please excuse my disdain with PC in articles relating to AQ and IS Ideology. My issue/issues are with the article. Not you Sir.
We can not win as long as they control the narrative. Plus, those that can murder women and children willingly do not follow any ethics we have to follow Sir.
