Regardless, Trump is impeached, and was impeached while he was in office. For a long time the right was saying Trump could not be indicted and impeachment was the only correct remedy. So now to see it through and perform their Constitutional duty and either convict or acquit.

To not go forward would set a precedent that essentially would have a President without any means of accountability during the "lame duck" period following an election. The President could not be convicted, and impeachment would not be possible ... they would simply run out the clock. This would also apply to any President in their second term after the election to determine the next President. There would be no instrument of accountability and open the door to a wide array of shenanigans. Law and order demands accountability.

Yes you’re on target Sgt (Join to see), the illegal impeachment is a total partisan sham and another chest-beating display by the DemocRats who aren’t happy enough Trump is not in office anymore, they need to chase him down and try to destroy him.
