Promotions for Female Generals Were Delayed Over Fears of Trump’s Reaction

Did they ask Trump or did they make assumptions based on rhetoric?

Sounds very much like Mr. Esper and General Milley are now playing for the liberal crowd, after the fact. Why was this not brought up at the time, or at the very least shouted from the housetops the day after the election results became clear? Do they not have the courage of their convictions? What are they doing in the defense department, if not?
