Thank you my friend Maj Robert Thornton for making us aware that first of 17 B-1Bs is , under a Congressionally-approved divestiture plan flew to the “boneyard” at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., on Feb. 17

Well if I hadn't heard all this before it could make sense. Retiring the 17 most problem prone aircraft to make the remainder of the fleet viable until the B-21 becomes operational. Happend with my F-111s, A-10s and many more. Give it a few years and the argument will be that the fleet is so small and costly to maintain that all B-1s should be retired.

To be honest I never fully understood the decision to retire the EF-111 and let the Navy handle electronic jamming.
