I think they all compliment one another. The character Amy actually is a PhD and fits right in with the rest only playing PhD's.

I fell off my chair laughing when Amy reported she was reprimanded for throwing poop back at the test monkeys in the lab. "They started it!" was her defense, and I sided with her.

Amy’s character was a scream: a lofty scientist and perfect Sheldon-companion. She was funny when fighting with her monkey subjects over the type of cigarettes they wanted or hoping to pick “that little mother who’s been biting me” animal for an experimentation.
