Is THIS what good men have died to defend?
Incoming Boston University professor Saia Grundy mocked a rape survivor on Facebook because she was white. Grundy said her tears “are meaningless displays of emotion.” She has also tweeted that white men are the “problem population.” Prof. Grundy’s remarks are sickening and Boston University needs to fire her! (This is a bit close to home for me, because I went to high school with the victim she mocked.)
I feel that, based on these tweets alone, she should lose her job. I also think that this kind of blatant prejudice has no place in an institution of higher education. Or am I wrong? IS this Freedom of Speech?
I'm not looking at this from a Black vs. White perspective, nor a Left vs. Right perspective. I'm looking at this from a Right vs. Wrong perspective.

Mike. I have read this article and a couple others on professor Sala Grundy. When it First started Boston University supported her by saying it was Freedom of speech, then the next response from them was to distance themselves from her while still "Supporting her Free Speech" again, just a ways off.
My Opinion, this woman should not be allowed to teach. She has shown racist tendencies, fails to show any thing that can be discerned as objectionable thought, and would not make a good professor in a class where she will be teaching a diverse group of youths.
As I go through college now at the age of 42, I am actually studying the professors as much as the subject. Most of the good ones, while teaching subjects, also teach critical thinking with a rational objective view. Does their opinion always stay out of the class room, No. They do temper it with showing both sides of any conflict as clear as possible.
While she does still have a job, (I have not found an article saying she was removed as of yet) I doubt she will ever be an effective or be able to push her own agenda now that she has been called out. Should she loose her job, "in my opinion" Yes. Will she... No.

Freedom of speech is a touchy subject as well, looking from a left side perspective, I do agree that one is allowed to say what they want because it is protected, the issue lies with is that it allows hateful statements as well as positive?
I hate being that guy that says that freedom of speech can lead to negativity.
What's the point of freedom of speech if there will be those that continue to say negative things? What's the point of freedom of speech if we keep allowing flag stompers, Muslim extremists, and those who speak publicly with statements against race, colour, religion or gender stereotypes.
I understand it is one's opinion, but to demonstrate openly, c'mon! I perfectly believe in the First Amendment, but if it starts becoming a problem, I wouldn't be surprised if little bits and pieces start get taken away because of a few idiots. This isn't the true purpose for the First Amendment. (My opinion)
