Like most things in government it takes a not-so-bad proposal of serializing parts that could then be turned into un-marked guns possessed by people who cannot legally possess guns and turns it into a monster that could be twisted to restrict legitimate business.

I'm in favor of all receivers being marked. I'm not in favor of the ATF being allowed to arbitrarily decide if a gun design gets to go forward or not. Politics suck.

The alcohol industry does not kill anybody
The tobacco industry does not kill anybody
The medical community does not ... sorry yeah they kill a bunch of people every year
