At last count, more than 200 people were killed in mass shooter events this year, how many of those were because someone had legally obtained a firearm? In Denver, a responding officer armed with a gun was killed by a mass shooter. Just having a "good guy with a gun" handy doesn't automatically save lives. I'm pro 2A and have privately-owned firearms, but I'm also for better screening to keep guns out of the hands of whackos. We need to be more pragmatic about solving this problem.
BTW, I love it when people say "the media" won't report on something and then produce a media report showing that an event was actually reported somewhere. Everything isn't a conspiracy. Media is not a public service, it's a business. Media outlets report on whatever drives revenue for their business. Watch what you like, read what you like, but if you stick to a viewing a single channel or reading only one newspaper, you're getting exactly what you want to know, news that only agrees with your views.
