"I don't think you have proven your case. My point, "it's [NOT] been firmly established that states and even individual cities can draft gun control legislation and pass it through at the state and municipal level if they feel a need." State and local laws may take effect, but eventually they become null and void if they cannot survive a SCOTUS ruling."
-----------------
"I'll let you speak for you and you let me speak for me. I know full well a law must be challenged. The case you brought forth is actively being challenged in both state and federal courts.
You stated "It's been firmly established that states and even individual cities can draft gun control legislation and pass it through at the state and municipal level if they feel a need."
I guess that is technically correct."
------------------
Is that better?
My point is that people need to get off their behinds and stop just hoping a case somehow finds it's way to the supreme court. If you live in Washington, or New Jersey, or wherever, stop just hoping someone challenges the law or that a court decides to file a temporary injunction and conduct a judicial review. Get some people together or find an advocacy group, pool up some money, and find a lawyer to take and escalate the case. I'm lucky enough to live in Wisconsin where the crazy hasn't fully taken hold.
Folks need to be more active in their resistance.

SPC Colin Ahasay - I was specifically referring to your comment, "You [Maj Bell] seem to think that part doesn't need to happen..." I don't think that and never have.
The case you presented has already been challenged in two lower courts and in a federal appellate court in less than 90 days. How much more do you want?

Conceded, I'm sorry. That's a false attribution and an ad hominem.
"How much more do you want?"
All of your beer and half of your stuff. The 2022 census shows Washington as having a population of 7,785,786 and a gun ownership rate per world population review of 42.1% now I know that views can differ, but 3,277,815 people can manage more than three court challenges. I'm positive. They are waiting for someone to do something when they should be organizing.

NRA joins legal fight challenging Washington's assault weapons ban
Less than 24 hours after Gov. Jay Inslee signed Washington's ban on assault weapons into law, three lawsuits have emerged that aim to challenge the new law in court.

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."
- Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776
"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776
"To disarm the people...[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them."
- George Mason, referencing advice given to the British Parliament by Pennsylvania governor Sir William Keith, The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788
"A militia when properly formed are in fact the people themselves…and include, according to the past and general usage of the states, all men capable of bearing arms… "To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."
- Richard Henry Lee, Federal Farmer No. 18, January 25, 1788
"The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms."
- Samuel Adams, Massachusetts Ratifying Convention, 1788

LTC (Join to see) Gall me old school. I'd be right at home with a 1903A1 and M1A (M14). Hell, I'd be at home with a Springfield Trapdoor carbine too. LOL

LTC Trent Klug nothing wrong with the Springfield rifle. My dad had a 1903- A3. He also had a Marine Corps issue national match M1 Garand that he got from the Marine Corps in 1972 buying it on Surplus for 300 bucks. He sold it before he passed away in 2002 for about 1600 bucks. It had NM stamped all over it and it was an official sniper rifle. I could use an sks, and M1 carbine or even an M14 but for Close Quarters like the M4 that I had in Iraq and Afghanistan.

My dad was the poster boy for the 47th division Minnesota National Guard that was getting mobilized and taking a train and truck to Fort Rucker alabama. Here he is holding his M1 Garand and made the Minneapolis-Saint Paul local paper. It reminds me of your picture but he wasn't in a war zone.~7693:LTC Trent Klug]
