I think if they are going to do this then the employee ummm athlete should have to choose salary or scholarship. Any scholarship dollars not used could go to other students.

Student athletes get many perks; first pick of classes, extra tutoring, free tuition, free room and board, etc.

They get a lot for playing their sport. Many of which probably wouldn’t have went to many of the universities they attended otherwise. I personally think paying them is a bad idea.

With you 100% sir. On the other side I don't like seeing universities/colleges making soo much off it. I know they are good at PR telling people they spread the money around to lessor programs, but I just don't know.

I honestly think it depends on the sport. I think the budgets are not spent fairly from what I’ve heard from college athletes in less popular sports such as soccer or volleyball vs basketball or football. SFC (Join to see)

I was finished watching pro sports in the early 80's. And the only collegiate sporting event I watch now is the Army-Navy Game. But I'm fully prepared to get my sports fix at the local High School Games, until the Democrats screw those up too.

The Schools are making BIG Money from these kids via ticket sales and concessions and Merchandise. I hope all that cash is staying in the school for school things. Vegas is making bank on them also. The team Stars are getting perks that aren't talked about. I see this as a way to help the kids that won't, one day, go to the NBA NFL MLB.

There are pluses and minuses all over the place. Myself, I just believe our society makes too much out of college sports... and when we do the money follows and corrupts everything.
