On June 18, 1974, Georgy Zhukov, Russian deputy commander-in-chief of the Red Army during WWII (Battles of Stalingrad, Kursk, and Berlin) and Minister of Defense, died at the age of 77. An excerpt from the article:
"Marshal Georgy Zhukov (December 1, 1896–June 18, 1974) was the most important and most successful Russian general in World War II. He was responsible for the successful defense of Moscow, Stalingrad, and Leningrad against German forces and eventually pushed them back to Germany. He led the final attack on Berlin, and he was so popular after the war that Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin, feeling threatened, demoted him and moved him to obscure regional commands."

Kruschev didn’t like him either. It was Kruschev who put him in Siberia. Thing was I never thought he wanted to be the Premier

No wonder Stalin felt threatened by this man, his service record was better than some that I've seen from the Russian military, not to sound sacreligious, but Stalin was feeling like the Jewish religious leaders felt with Christ brother SGT (Join to see)
