"LOCK THEM UP!" <-- this. This right there. This really pisses me off. Read the comments on this OP and you will see the people YELLING this phrase could care less about a year plus of riots, death, damages and insurrection. They claim is is one of those debate faux pas. Sorry - this is NOT a debate.

The FACTS are when a left leaning politician makes a claim it is FACT AND TRUTH AND DON'T YOU DARE DENY IT. But when a right leaning politician makes a claim it is met with belly laughs, derision, condescension, rudeness, guffaws, and the cries of conspiracy theories, it's Faux News, Q-Anon, hey - how about that shooting, deflection, dismissal and outright ugly name calling.

There is not a person who is shouting "LOCK THEM UP!" that can even see there were RIOTS, murders, destruction of private and government properties, and yes, insurrection, across several cities in this nation for over a year.

Perhaps that is because when right-leaning politicians make claims they rarely stand up to scrutiny in a court of law. Unlike the court of public opinion where people can say anything they want and toss out emotional screeds, courts of laws require actual verification and have standards of evidence and other rules to ensure what is being said is factual, accurate, and/or admissible. It is under these conditions, rules, and actual scrutiny by people studied and trained in deciphering fact from fiction where right-leaning politicians fall short.

CPL David Bixler - I said "rarely". If you have evidence to the contrary, feel free to present it.

CPL David Bixler - You may have learned to read but you didn't learn idioms very well. To take something WITH (not worth) a grain of salt means to NOT take it seriously. If you can not believe why anyone would not take me seriously, I understand that, but it is still a double negative. I am a serious person when I need to be. As a matter of serious observation, I am betting you are the kind of person that says "irregardless" when you mean "regardless".

And I am not asking you to "prove a point in a vacuum", whatever that means. There is a whole litany, a plethora even, of allegations of wrongdoing leveled by those in right-wing media and right-wing politics. A universe to choose from. All you would have to do is point out a number, let's say more than three, that actually stuck in a court of law where a person was either indicted and/or convicted. You can probably tune in to Hannity or Tucker tonight and take your pick.

Damn - from broad generalizations right into personal attack.

Did you miss the plethora of accusations from the left over the last 50+ years? Hell, let's just look at the last 5 years. Several investigations, 2 impeachments, more investigations, several commissions and nada was proved.

What you are trying to point out is equally shared by both sides of the aisle. But I doubt you will ever see, or acknowledge, that.

How many of these folks have been charged with sedition? Or treason? Or insurrection? Anything even close to those?
How about any charges of arson? Looting?
Or are they just sticking with illegal picketing? Trespassing?

Sgt (Join to see) - I see what the lawyer said about one guy placed in "restrictive housing" due to COVID-19 constraints. Nothing specific to his participation in the insurrection... or are you outraged for all criminals placed in restrictive housing? Do you have anything about anyone actually placed in solitary confinement for their role in the January 6th attacks?

MSgt Steve Sweeney - While there does not appear to be a clear definition of what “restrictive housing” means, a DC Department of Corrections (DOC) policy document from August 2019 refers to it by the euphemism “single occupancy housing.” It lists sexual predators, juveniles, anyone likely to be targets for violence, engage in assaultive behavior as the ones restrictive housing.
Read the story of Ryan Samsel.
The ACLU is even complaining, as is Elizabeth Warren and many other Democrats.

In contrast, "forty-seven of the 96 Portland rioters hit with federal charges relating to attacks on federal buildings have had their charges dropped, including charges of assaulting an officer."
36 arrested in St Louis for rioting and looting. - All dismissed.
Bronx, NY - "Seventy-three of the 118 people arrested in the borough had their cases shelved altogether, another 19 were convicted on lesser counts like trespassing, which carries no jail time."
"Portland DA dismissed 90% of riot-related charges it received in September, 70% of charges since start of civil unrest."
"Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney says the city will drop all code violation notices handed out to demonstrators..."
"Top Chicago prosecutor Kim Foxx's office has dismissed more than 25,000 felony cases..." (and that's just thru 2019) - "... her office will begin next week dropping charges against as many as 817 defendants arrested after the killing of George Floyd."
