A sad outcome to a poorly planned action.
Biden has shown the guts that 3 previous Presidents lacked. He got us out of a war we could not win.

Brings back memories,,,,

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I can only imagine what the soldiers who have fought there over the past 20 years are thinking. They served their Country with distinction!

...."About 650 US troops are expected to remain in the country, the Associated Press reports, to provide protection for diplomats and help guard Kabul's international airport, a vital transport hub for the landlocked country.

The ability of Afghan forces to keep control of the base could be essential in maintaining security in Kabul and keeping pressure on the Taliban.

The exit of foreign forces from Bagram base "symbolises that Afghanistan is alone, abandoned, and left to defend itself against the Taliban's onslaught", Afghanistan expert Nishank Motwani told the Reuters news agency.

"Having reached home, Americans and allied forces will now watch what they fought so hard to build over 20 years burn down from afar and knowing that the Afghan men and women they fought with risk losing everything."

I too, can feel for the people that fought over there. I remember how I felt when Saigon fell in 1975. I was upset when we started this. My thoughts were to send in Special Forces and take out the MFr that masterminded 9/11 and not start a forever war. Then came Iraq and weapons of mass destruction. Our leaders sometimes make bad decisions.

I never went to Afghanistan. Just Iraq. But I know how people who want to Afghanistan feel. About fucking time.

What an epic waste of lives, resources, money....that's all those two conflicts were. Waste.
