I've had an AR-7 for a very long time. I will continue to have one for a long time to come. There are prettier, more expensive options available. Somebody else can buy those.
The current factory front sight leaves much to be desired, there are replacement options though.

As a survival tool, the Takedown version is pretty clever. But it's heavier and takes more room to pack out than the Henry AR-7. Guess it all depends on what you think TEOTWAWKI looks like.
