Climate change: US-Canada heatwave 'virtually impossible' without warming

The searing heat that scorched western Canada and the US at the end of June was "virtually impossible" without climate change, say scientists.
In their study, the team of researchers says that the deadly heatwave was a one-in-a-1,000-year event.
But we can expect extreme events such as this to become more common as the world heats up due to climate change.
If humans hadn't influenced the climate to the extent that they have, the event would have been 150 times less likely.
Scientists worry that global heating, largely as a result of burning fossil fuels, is now driving up temperatures faster than models predict.

Sorry about the heat up north but here in MS it has been an unexpected pleasant summer so far...waiting for the oven door to open though!!!

While most agree that the Earth is warming, many scientists continue to find the recovery from the Little Ice Age is the primary driving factor of warming. We would have been warming without adding CO2, but we humans seem to have accelerated it. Now, how to address it? If we can't enforce compliance by China, India, and the rest of the 3rd world, I fear we are lost. The US could return to pre-1800 lifestyles and it won't make a dent, unless the rest of the world agrees to net zero.

Beyond the scientific community, even DoD accepts the reality and the security threat posed by climate change. The opposition isn't rational or grounded, just purely ideological.
