Little confused here, was 6 JAN a sudden thing spurned by Trump's speech or did it happen over days and weeks? One minute it is Trump's fault from his rally that day and the next it was a planned event. Personally I believe the government is using this to watch it's people more and more closely like the Patriot Act after 9/11.

There were multiple hints dropped known by the FBI and the NSA that were not shared. The whole purpose of the Department of Homeland security was to prevent THAT lack of information sharing.
