PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I'm surprised someone didn't shiv him in the past 50 years.

..."While he's been granted parole, it's going to be a while longer before 77-year-old Sirhan walks free ... there's still a few hurdles, including a 120-day review period and the possibility the Governor overrules the parole board's decision.

As you know ... RFK was assassinated at the Ambassador Hotel in L.A. the night he won the California Presidential Primary in 1968. Sirhan shot Kennedy in a kitchen pantry, moments after RFK declared victory.

Sirhan was subdued and disarmed by Olympic gold medalist Rafer Johnson, former pro football player Rosey Grier, along with authors Jimmy Breslin, Pete Hamill and George Plimpton.

Sirhan was convicted of murder and sentenced to death, but 3 years later his sentence was commuted to life in prison after the California death penalty was ruled unconstitutional.

If he gets out, Sirhan says he'll live with his brother in L.A."

Hmm . . . not sure what to think about that - except that if Robert Kennedy Jr. and Douglas Kennedy, do not object to parole that is a lot of compassion. Presumably he would be monitored. Maybe he has health problems.
I wish the people who need to do so would support parole/pardon for Leonard Peltier - especially because of his health problems. That may be the FBI. Reading about the case, which is extensively written about, there are admissions that Peltier was framed and no evidence to support the claim that he killed an FBI agent. If he is, instead, being held for escaping from custody long ago (and obviously being apprehended), it seems a very long time to hold someone for that reason.

Here in the Paha Sapa (Black Hills) of south Dakota, the name Leonard Peltier is very well known.

I didn't figure he'd ever get out.
Think about it ... this guy was convicted, and has been behind bars since the middle of 1969. Freedom may very well kill him.
