As a surfer/boogy boarder who grew up in Florida, I find this to be ok. I would enjoy catching some waves - it is a rush that I cannot ever get enough of. The only challenge is you don't get the natural feel of being in the ocean.

I'd love to do that of course I have not been on a surfboard in 50 years. Also I live on the Gulf Coast.
