Affidavit: Fort Hood soldier shot mother of his child, also a soldier, in the head

A criminal complaint affidavit obtained by News 10 states Fort Hood soldier Nakealon Keunte Mosley, 24, shot and killed the mother of his child, Francine Martinez, also a Fort Hood soldier, after an argument outside a Killeen nightclub.
Martinez arrived at a local hospital for treatment after she was shot in the head while driving at about 2 a.m. on September 4, 2021.
Police investigating the shooting interviewed witnesses at the hospital and learned Martinez left a local nightclub after she encountered Mosley, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her child.
Mosley allegedly followed the woman outside into the parking lot where both engaged in a heated verbal altercation. The affidavit states Martinez drove away in a red Dodge and Mosley followed her in a white Chrysler.
Mosley pulled up to Martinez’s vehicle near the 100 block of W. Elms Road and fired several rounds into her vehicle, striking her in the head, the affidavit states.

Let’s be more real, Fort Hood can’t seem to stay out of the news at all. Yes, this happens at other installations too, which is just as tragic. I’m definitely not making light of any of it.

While I was stationed at Fort Hood fact sheets often stated that Fort Hood had the highest population of Military personal in the US. Particularly when numbers of Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and National Guard and Reserves are all added to Regular Army personal there for annual training, joint exercises or schools. It makes sense that the largest population will have the highest numbers of incidents but that doesn’t make it any easier to live with the fact that the Great Place isn’t always such a great place to be exposed to the realities of the human condition.

SGM Joel Cook Ain’t that the truth SGM. As an Airman, I’ve been stationed at Hood twice totaling about 11 years with 7 deployments from the Great Place. It truly is a city itself and sadly, there’s going to be bad apples, but dang…can’t the installation go a month without tragedy? This community is already on edge and the support for members of the Armed Forces is slowly deteriorating.

What is wrong with people? It’s as if people have become desensitized to the horrors taking a life. I’ll never understand how something could go so badly in a person’s life that they feel they need to end someone else’s life.

This isn't new. These kind of things have always happened - you just hear about them more due to social media and 24 hour news cycle. But domestic violence - it's not new. It's always been part of the human species and hasn't really gotten any better.
