Rarely do we mention the sacrifices spouses make do to all the PCS moves.

This has always been a problem for my wife during PCS. Although I’m not sure that this legislation would take care of the problem. Different state boards have wildly different standards, which often means extra training and/or education. Luckily she’s a federal employee now, and they recognize licenses from every state.

Lots of similar laws exist at the state level, but they generally just speed the timeline for meeting state requirements. Hopefully this legislation includes a mandate for intra-state license recognition or else it’s probably not gonna be effective. Definitely a step in the right direction though…

Thankyou. 101% spot on from what I have personally seen. I'll still bet lots of spouses will still need some additional classes or training.

While a very-very good idea, I certainly don't want person with a southern teaching degree it my grandkids school. And while states having reciprocity agreements with other states, it does not mean that they can teach here. And I know for a fact that this happens. A officer friend from school and his teacher wife came up here. She had to go back to school for a year to meet my states requirements. . However, England said she could come and teach there.
