Now THIS is the stuff that needs to be on Army WTF page again lol. I mean...I just laughed reading the headline. Could you imagine being at the VFW or something someday and this person starts talking about "I remember the time a ninja attacked us..." LOL.

SFC William Farrell -I hardly mentioned it, but now that you brought it up, how many times do you remember people killing 10 to 60 people with a car? Cars are necessary in everyday life in America, assault rifles are not... I do appreciate you saying please though. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the mental health issues needs to be addressed, but IMO, so do certain laws pertaining to certain types of battle field weapons intended to kill many people that are ending up on our streets. I see it as being OK to drive a car downtown and park it right in front of your favorite watering hole, but do we really need to let people walk down main street with automatic weapons? If you don't see a problem with crazy people and guns, well, that's why we vote, one of the reasons anyway.

PFC David Foster - You have turned it into guns David but you mention guns. The soldiers were attacked by some person with a sword, not a gun. I can think of several instances with some mentally unsigned person with a vehicle mowing down people. It happened in Toronto, New York City, Germany and even several times in China where the government controls everything. People with some mental health issues should not have access to firearms but medical privacy laws prevent clinicians from alerting law enforcement. I dont know where you live but where I live its impossible to get an automatic weapon and even in those states that allow it, you're not walking down main street with one on your shoulder. They are also extremely expensive. I shoot automatic firearms in nearby New Hampshire where it is legal to own one and I enjoy it but I am once again not walking down main street with one on my shoulder.

SFC William Farrell - Right, but my question was how many times was it over 10 people killed... My point is they are few and far between. It turned into a debate, I'm just stating my view... We can forget about it, no problem.

The majority of states (43) have no assault weapons ban, although two, Minnesota, have training and background check requirements for purchasers of assault weapons that are stricter than those for ordinary firearms. On June 4, 2021, a federal judge struck down the 3 decade long ban in California, though it is pending appeal by the California Attorney General. While there are no statewide assault weapon bans in Colorado and Illinois, local bans exist in certain cities or counties in each of these states. In 2018, most Americans who were polled supported a ban on assault weapons.[1][2][3]

PFC David Foster - Take away the firearms and the mental midgets and the run of the mill criminals will move on to something else. In Ireland where its very difficult to get a firearm, there are stabbings as there are in England. We need to deal with your original statement of mental health. What are causing these issues, drugs, addiction, single parent homes, lack of religion, etc.

By the way I learned something today, I never realized how many states allow automatic weapons. Thank you, I think Ill move! lol I carry every day because of these others who would cause us harm.
