Jack Benny!!! I haven't thought about him in years. I'll always remember him and the fiddle. While I listened to him in his latter years I really enjoyed him.

I saw the TV show some on reruns, and as a guest on many many shows. For some reason I was just always fascinated by him.

Very cool. I don't know what it is about Jack Benny that makes me like him so much and feel so strongly about him. Maybe it's just remembering watching him as a child when my world was a lot simpler and a lot more secure. I wonder if my children and grandchildren with get the same feeling when they watch old John Wayne movies? I hope so. :)

There are too many topics on leadership.
- Good leaders shift gears depending on the situation.
- Build up morale.
- Take care of the soldiers and love them. They will love you back.
- I shared myself to the unit by working a couple shifts as the gate guard as a CPT. I did spring clean up with the soldiers. When my unit was tasked to conduct military funerals, none of the soldiers and NCOs had experience, so I volunteered to be the OIC.
- I am a firm believer good leaders will suffer with the troops. I had to show them that I was not too good to work with them.
- Find innovative ways to say thank you. For example I told and challenged the Finance Detachment to provide world class support the Ft Riley. When the unit accomplished my vision, I felt that I had to reward them in a world class manner. I use to lay on a couch to brainstorm ideas to reward the soldiers. Many times I used the couch and closed my eyes to think about sequential steps to accomplish the mission. Who coordinated with the armorer? Who coordinated for the motor pool gate to be opened?
