I just read this article in the Army Times and I feel so sad for this veteran. At face value, it seems if the cops were way out of line in dealing with this veteran.

SFC William Farrell Saw this a few days ago on RP. Makes me wonder why they couldn't have provided a safe shelter for his dog until his legal issue was delt with.
Panhandling... really... at least he wasn't robbing or stealing stuff to sell or hock. They could have sent him on his way out of town. IMO...
