Personally, I carry a firearm in .45 caliber, and have not considered less-than an option. I've never seen a product like the Bolawrap, but I think I like it. Have to study it a bit more first and don't know that I'd be comfortable using it as a primary in any event.

Do you know why the US Army wanted to use .45s in the Philippines during the US and Philippine war?

Not particularly. I know the Army went to the .45 because of the stopping power inherent in the round.
