PO2 Russell "Russ" Lincoln The took the wrong route! My guess is the truck driver was lost. The railroad tracks are higher than the road which caused this accident.

I had some jerk intentionally block me on train tracks, with a train that wouldn't have time to stop. There was a semi behind me, so I couldn't back up. I blew the horn, and got the finger, so I put my Stepvan into low gear and pushed a brand new mid '0s ford pickup truck out of my way just in time. The SOB was stupid enough o get out of his truck and threaten me, that he was going to call the police. I told him to get back in his truck, and get it out of my way, or I would shove it into the intersection, in front of a steel truck. He had just attempted murder, and to possibly cause a derailment in our downtown area. This was on a main line from Michigan to Florida with train after train full of new cars and industrial equipment.

On youtube do a search of train hitting cars/trucks. They are all over youtube. This could have been avoided with common sense. You can see that the track is quite a bit higher than the road. As far as we know nobody was killed or suffered serious injury so that is good news.
