A friend had a 1970 Toronado and lived off post. One morning he looked out and thought his front window looked like a mirror. Shortly after it burst into flames... needless to say it was a total loss. Great looking car and fun to drive.

That is too bad. I have had an Oldsmobile Cutlass since 1982 and I drove it from 1982 until 2003. I put a couple different engines in it. I never had an engine fire but this could have been an issue where Maybe a transmission leak or a fuel line leak started a fire. What a pity! Those vehicles have metal fuel lines so I wonder what broke to cause the fire? It was Advanced for its time because it had the engine and transmission in the front. It was a front wheel drive car.
