My oldest daughter was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 13, and she was put on birth-control pills, which tamed the beast enough for her to be able to live pretty normally. Endometriosis runs in families, and frequently skips generations. Her aunt Zelma also had endometriosis, as did one of her cousins.

SGT (Join to see) it's unfortunate that 50% of the population gets "blown off" by medical professionals & medical research isn't well-founded for their needs and conditions. Hopefully I raised my son's to be more cognizant of their wives & daughters' physiology & physical needs.

SFC Terry Stinnett There used to be a lot of hesitation by doctors to diagnose pediatric endometriosis, but thankfully the gynecologist who saw her wasn't hesitant to diagnose and treat her.
We were very aware of endometriosis because my wife's younger sister had it, as did a cousin, and both had had difficulty getting pregnant.

Adequate medical professional care, training for those health care providers & proportional research funding would be a good start.
