Guys in the Rifleman, Matt Dillion, Combat, Bonanza, The Andy Griffith Show depicted real men. It seems that the ‘70s, (ie the Make Love not War cultural brainwashing era) started depicting American men as a joke.
Thankfully, there’s a resistance of real men today who are refusing to let themselves be diminished.
