MSG Thomas Livingston, Great Post. I have read a lot about Dolittles Raiders before and seen movies about the raid. It took a lot of balls to do what these aircrews did. God Bless Them All.

This is one of my favorite missions of the war. A complete shocker. Who would think to launch bombers from a carrier and hit Tokyo early? The damage of the raid was negligible but the psychological impact was significant.
They knew then they could be hit. The red had been knocked off their sucker early on. Doolittle and his men knew that was a very high risk raid, all volunteered and took their chances. Part of the greatest generation for sure.
