The road to free information and opinions seems to run into a lot of paywalls.

Want to finish reading an article? You can, but only if you subscribe for just $1 for 3 months, which becomes $11.99 a month thereafter, and into perpetuity, until your credit card expires. Even if it's after you do.

I have a strong, even personal interest in paying journalists fairly. But the cost most people have to pay these days if they want to try to stay informed and enrich their minds with a range of opinions is pretty steep.

Still going old school and been subscribing to newspapers and magazines since forever.

CPT (Join to see) Yeah I've still got an On-Line Subscription to the New York Times and I Get a Hard Copy on Weekends when I Go to First Watch for Breakfast.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Been reading NYT for eons. Have the seven day/week subscription along w/the online access. Prefer the hard copy but online = handy. Hard to keep up. Haven’t finished yesterday’s or started today’s and the Sunday jumbo size edition is right around the corner. And then there = the New Yorker and the local paper and regional and niche.... So much to read and —> never enough time to keep up!
