Very interesting stuff. We need to remember they are in the process of "selling" this stuff to us. Pont of fact: smart meters means electric companies can charge us the cost of electricity in real time; in other words, the price of electricity will go up and down minute by minute depending on demand. Times of the day when electricity demand is higher with have higher costs, electricity for air conditioning in the afternoon will cost more because demand is typically higher. Physical security is also a major concern.

How is it working and what can you tell us about it? What sort of electric costs do you have? I track my costs. My heaviest use of electricity last year was between July and August were I used 1,696 kwH that cost me $296.01. That's an average cost of 0.158614387 $/kwH. I don't separate electric cost from transmission costs, to me that muddies the water with games. The cost should be the cost.

SFC (Join to see) The cooling portion of my AC unit can be ‘shut-off’ for a few hours during high demand periods in Southern CA. The fan works and merely blows ambient ‘air’.
