Insurance is something I never thought I'd use COL (Join to see). When my wife died 21 years ago at 46, I had insurance on her with a veterans insurance company whose name escapes me at the moment. After she died and I filed our claim, they promptly paid me the 100K i had on her. That money went towards her burial and also towards putting my son through college. Why I dont have insurance on myself today we have enough money available to handle any unforeseen events.

SGT (Join to see) - Thank you Charlie. I'm also sorry for your loss. It was certainly too young for both of them. How old were you when that happened? My son was three months shy of his 18th birthday. After she died, I went back to an old friend, alcohol. I finally sobered up and stayed that way until the day after I buried her. I am certainly glad I was sober at that time as I was there when she died. had i still been drinking I may not have been. I took her to every one of her chemo appointments. I'm happy to say I am sober again for over 15 years. Be well Charlie
