Article says the pilot refused to bail. Wonder if his ejection seat and parachute would have worked. And the F-5 is a single seat. The article implies there is a crew of two.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel No doubt The Right will fabricate a conspiracy theory that POTUS Biden was instrumental in causing this tragedy... that's what they do.

No, the Iranians will blame Israel. They could blame the u.s.a. but why would we want to shoot down one of their planes? Every Friday oh, the Iranians say death is real, death to America and death to the UK among other people they wish dead. President Biden's causing his own problems without getting Iran mixed in. Iran's trying to get an A Bomb to destroy Israel. It's Israel who would do something like this but I don't think so this time.

This country reverse-engineered parts for the F-4 Phantom and the F-14 Tomcat. These planes are really old so don't be surprised if there are more plane crashes as these planes get older and older

LTC (Join to see) Reverse Engineered? Read it Again, It's US Made, Like Most of their Military Leftovers from before the "Revolution" they are Kings of Keeping Shit Running Long After It's Shelf Life, Kings of Bubble Gum, Paper Clip and Rubber Band Repairs. Most of What they have is Pure Unadulterated Crap! Likely had Some Repair Parts that I Arranged thru the Israel Government during Iran-Contra.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel what you say makes sense but you know that Iran does have their own aircraft industry. In early 2009, there was a report on base of an F-14 that flew over my Foreard operating base that was about 100 km away from the eastern border of Iran. I was not convinced so I did some research online because we had Wi-Fi available in an hour civil Affairs office. Usaid had set up Wi-Fi for us. On my own laptop, I looked up to see what was flying in the Iranian Air Force. I found out that their f-14s are rarely use but something like a this Phantom rf-4b could have been used to wreak on our base. I read more articles back then about how they were able to reverse-engineer stuff that we sold them during the time of the shop. Yes, chip, it's possible that what you were involved and helped them but I wanted to tell you my experience. I did my own paper and went to Navy Intel ncoic and told her that I doubt it was a tomcat but most likely a phantom like the picture shown here.
