How would a “right” news source be any less credible than MSNBC, ABC, CNN, CBS or PBS? Only cause you like the others and they say what you like to hear.

I always wondered the same absolute thing. It grinds my gears when they post "Bias Check" like it's the holy grail. It's human nature to be biased in some sort of way so read different outlets than make up your mind.

1SG Russell S. Right leaning news sources are not less credible on their face. In my mind what really matters for that is their history of factual reporting. Bias really informs us of slant, not factualness.

Even though they use the term bias in the URL, they have two main things they check, bias and a history of factual reporting. It's that second thing we should be most concerned about.

The bias mostly tells us if they are likely to leave pertinent facts out out or present things in a certain way. That's more informative than anything else. But the history of factual reporting, that tells us if there is a chance that the story may have been fully, or at least partially, cut from whole cloth (i.e. just made up).

I've found there is an inverse relationship between how far biased a news source is (to the right or the left) and how likely they are to have a history of factual reporting. I.e. news sources that are really out there in terms of bias are more likely to do that cutting of stories from whole cloth.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen is pointing out this story doesn't support the cause of some on the right. Given their bias he feels that makes this story more likely to be true, particularly given their mixed history of factual reporting. I think that is a reasonable point to make.

News reporting is supposed to be balanced, not leaning in either direction. That's hard to do these days but as a consumer of news it's your job to know which ways a source leans. Unfortunately for the last several years right leaning sources have also been found to be lacking on fact checking.

MSNBC,ABC,CNN,CBS or PBS. They are not credble because they don't report the news. They manufacture the news to support their leftist agenda.

Don't have any verification of this but will check it. They are definitely having some morale problems however.

I've been checking and the first mentions of this look to have taken place about 12 hours ago, but none of the sources are very reputable. The Express article seems to pick from those articles. I've not seen anything else regarding this, but that's not to say that it didn't happen. I'm checking my sources and keeping an eye out . It's certainly interesting in light of the on-the-ground reports of RU troops essentially surrendering without a fight. Will let you know.
