U.S. policymakers have rallied behind Ukraine as it faces Russia's assault, but there's one proposal to harden Ukraine that's facing bipartisan opposition: a no-fly zone.
Ukrainian leaders including President Volodymyr Zelensky have asked the United States and its allies to impose a no-fly zone to deny Russia one of its key advantages over Ukraine in its larger and more powerful air force. But Democratic and Republican lawmakers alike, as well as Biden administration officials, say enforcing a no-fly zone with the U.S. military would risk a direct confrontation between the United States and Russia, which in turn could lead to all-out war between the world's two largest nuclear powers.

This is a sensitive area for sure! We certainly do not want this invasion to be a precursor to a nuclear war... But what about one or more of the the European Country's Air Forces implementing a "No Fly Zone"? This INVASION BY RUSSIA IS OUT OF CONTROL AND SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE IS WANING, IMHO! Let's face it, China has given the world a heads up that they want Taiwan, and what will we do then? Russia and China have an alliance of sorts and are backing each other... We are headed for some form of war with either or both of these entities... Who is planning for that possibility? Just postulating here...

Lt Col Charlie Brown It’d be a disaster all around and very foolish for the United States to become entangled in an actual war with Russia over this particular matter.
