If this does end with a DMZ between a free Ukraine and Russian Separatist regions, NATO should push as many tanks, planes, antitank and air defense systems as possible into Ukraine.

This can be an indication that Putin is trying to salvage something from his failed invasion to take all of the Ukraine. And what proof that Putin won't just attack at another date to finish seizing the rest if it is split into north and south.

Well the people of Russia doesn't want a nuclear war and the oligarchs want to continue enjoying being rich so I'll say something will happen to Putin before he does any further escalation.
