I know that wars have attracted young men before to enlist when they were children (under 18). But I had no idea that so many young people had served in WWI. Interesting share MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D...!

There have always been young men that want to serve, lieing about their age in order to fight for the cause. The civil war is also a good example. We weren't exactly grown up when we were drafted at 18 years old. Anyway war sucks.

a full generation of European youth, lost to the trenches, gas, and machine guns of WWI. Heart-breaking for sure and yet we still seem to be re-learning the same damn lessons about how to prevent war in the first place. The youth will always suffer. thanks for the somber reminder Brother Dale. Lest we forget...

So true. What adds to the sadness of what occurred in the past is that this is playing out right now in Europe and in so many other corners of the world and gets very little attention.
