Not surprised by the way schools like that are now a days, need more parents to do such as this to make the schools more accountable for their ways Lt Col Charlie Brown

Why sue the City? Why not kick the kid squarely in the ass like he/she deserves? If the School System had held back the kids for failing to pass basic reading requirements, those very same parents would have been screaming "racism" in front of a School Board meeting.

Whatever happened to checking your child's homework? Having them read to you? This would all have been uncovered long before now PO1 John Johnson

Lt Col Charlie Brown And it took them until he graduated to figure this out? Not saying the school system is totally to blame but the parents are also to blame for not being involved in their child's education. My opinion. Anyone want to comment, I welcome your thoughts.

SSgt Joseph Baptist - They missed the mark on evaluation back in the first grade when they were learning one syllable words. Each year thereafter they continued to ignore it. I still say the parents are partially to blame. How do you know your child can't read by time they are in even third grade? The parents should have been raising hell then, not nine years later. My opinion for what it's worth.
