Keep in mind that Tennessee has multiple types of gun permits. While they are relatively easy to obtain, they are not automatically granted

The enhanced carry permit is the ones which would be open to 18 y/o individuals. There is an 8 hr firearms safety class they need to take unless they have compleres POST or military training.
