I definitely agree with You SFC (Join to see)! Today’s world seems to place more importance upon ‘feelings’ as opposed to promoting work ethic! College graduates are expecting to secure a 50K-100K job right out of college! I remember working as a waitress when I graduated with a BA degree in Psychology. It took me three years to secure a job in my field and I think I was making about 15K a year as a Probation/Parole Officer. That was 1981. However, in 1993, when I completed GRAD School with two Masters Degrees my start pay was only 29K and that was a Federal Government contract position. SFC (Join to see)

SPC Nancy Greene - The good old days when we could live on $15K a year! I remember them well. I probably still could live on $15K a year but most of it would be eaten up in taxes.

The federal taxable rate in 1980 for a single filer was 30%. Now, it’s, 12%.

If you stay in a job which compromises your morals, you've just set a price point at which you're willing to sell out. Says more about your character than it does your employer.

Being a career civil servant in PennDOT and DEP I just didn't advance as far as I could have because I wouldn't lie. It was always amusing to me how the higher ups (executives) could justify just about anything. I could never understand it.

I encountered ethical issues when working for Lenior County MH. I was working with ‘at risk’ kids and my supervisor demanded placement of these kids in group homes in Fayetteville, which was over two hours away! I quickly discovered she worked QA on the side for these group homes! Definitely unethical and created extreme hardships for the families! I dated to do what was in the best interest of the kids and the families! I quit shortly after I discovered her unethical behavior!SFC (Join to see)
