Polls taken since the Dobbs leak last week continue to be mixed, reflecting the long-time cognitive dissonance of public opinion about abortion, with a majority favoring basic abortions rights, but with a large majority also supporting some restrictions, especially in the third trimester. Above all, most polls find that abortion ranks far down the list of voter concerns, behind inflation, crime, health care, and education.

Abortion has always been a social topic that wrestles with the question "when does life begin?" While many feel it is a woman's right to choose it is more deeply rooted into what one believes. The very idea if having a choice speaks to the love of freedom yet we must consider God's teachings on the sanctity of life. I pray for our leadership to seek Devine guidance and their decisions will be pleasing to God. Putting this topic as a political decision is not fair as it is really a moral decision for humanity not restricted by political parties.

SGM Major Stroupe - most Americans favor restricted abortion...I suspect much like Europe has if we could actually get any believable polling on it....

Abortion is a big deal to me. I am totally aginst it. I will never vote for a democrat as long as I live. I don't see how Biden and Pelosi can call themselves Catholic. I wish that some higher clergy such as a Bishop or Archbishop would have enough balls to excomunicate them from the Catholic church This is my opinion as a practicing Catholic and I know that some will disagree with me but I don't care.

This political decision is based on religious beliefs and this is your freedom in our democracy. So, I respect your choice. Abortion goes against the right to life for an unborn child and why should a child be denied his or her right to live? On the other hand, the parents are the guardians of unborn children and hence, the choice lies with the parents. It is a tough decision to make. In the third trimester, abortions are not done or recommended by medical professionals because it is complicated procedure causing complications in the mother.
