Here is some advice. Before you invest in a mutual fund compare the historic returns with the S&P 500. If the mutual fund you are looking at has a historic average annual return of 7% and the S&P 500 historic annual average return is 10%. That is a sure sign that the mutual fund you are looking at is underperforming.
