Science is almost never "settled" if it is honestly moving forward MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. And getting government involved in it, rarely improves it.

In June 1988, Dr. James Hansen of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies told the U.S. Congress the world would warm by 1 Cº every 20 years till 2050, implying a 6 Cº growth by 2100 barring any changes. More recently, the IPCC predictions have been lowered to 4 degrees C growth by 2100. Tracking the errors of this prediction over the past 12 years, global and hemispherical prediction errors of the predicted 4 degree C increase by the year 2100 indicate the actual global increase in 2100 will be closer to 1 degree C.
